Privacy Policy
Effective July 16, 2026
GolfDogFight (the app, the admin portal, the public scoreboard, and this website — together, the “Service”) runs golf points-games for clubs and casual groups. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what's needed to run your game and nothing more, we don't sell your data, and we never handle your money.
What we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we receive your name (or the name you choose to share), your email address, and a unique account identifier. If your sign-in provider shares a profile photo, we may display it in the app.
Game data
Scores, quotas, round sign-ups, standings, skins and side-bet tallies, team assignments, and round history — the content of the games you play. This is the core of the Service and is visible to the other members of your group, as scorekeeping in a golf group normally is.
Messages
Group chat messages are visible to your group. Direct messages (DMs) are private to their participants: our access rules prevent other members — including group admins — from reading them, and we do not use DMs in any AI feature. Like most messaging services, messages are stored on our servers to deliver them.
Push notification tokens
If you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can send you round announcements, reminders, results, and chat notifications. Signing out removes the token for that device.
Billing (club administrators only)
Club subscriptions are purchased on the web through Stripe. Stripe processes the payment; we never see or store card numbers. We keep records of a club's subscription status.
What we don't collect
- No precise location tracking.
- No advertising identifiers, no third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and no cross-app tracking.
- No payment credentials — and no money. Skins and side-bet figures in the app are informational scorekeeping within your group. When the app offers a “settle up” link, it opens Venmo with a pre-filled amount; any transaction happens entirely between players in Venmo, outside the Service.
How we use your information
- To run your games: live scoring, leaderboards, standings, history.
- To notify you: round announcements, reminders, results, chat — you control notifications in your device settings.
- To power AI features: post-round recaps, coaching insights, season awards, and stats Q&A are generated by sending game statistics (scores, quotas, standings) to Anthropic's API. All numbers are computed by our own code; the AI only phrases them. DMs are never sent to any AI provider.
- To keep the Service working and fair: audit logs of administrative changes (like quota overrides), abuse prevention, and debugging.
Who can see your information
- Your group: members of a group see each other's names, scores, stats, and group chat, as in any golf league.
- The TV board: clubs can cast a public live scoreboard (names, scores, skins tallies) to a clubhouse TV. Anyone with that link can view it — it shows game data only, never contact info or messages.
- Service providers: we use Google Firebase (sign-in, database, hosting, notifications), Anthropic (AI features, game stats only), and Stripe (club billing). They process data on our behalf under their own contractual and privacy commitments.
Data retention
Round history and standings are kept so your group's season and records work — that's the product. Account information is kept while your account is active. Push tokens are removed when you sign out of a device.
Your choices & deleting your data
- You can edit your display name in the app and control notifications in your device settings.
- You can delete your account from inside the app: open the Me tab and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your account, profile, sign-in, private messages, and push tokens. Scores already posted to group rounds are retained in anonymized form (shown as “Deleted player”) so other players' results and standings stay intact.
- You can also request deletion by contacting us at jeffwatkins@fromthepro.com from the email tied to your account.
- You can leave a group at any time, or ask a group admin to remove you.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is controlled by per-group security rules enforced on our servers, and administrative actions are audited. No service can promise perfect security, but scorekeeping data is treated with the same care as the rest.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the app or by email where appropriate.
